Job Requirements:
Studies:
- Electrical engineering will be most valuated competence
- Hydraulics, Civil Engineering, Building engineering will be an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Practical experience in engineering, including survey, planning, follow up and/or execution of infrastructure/building rehabilitation or construction projects
- Understanding of work contracts follow up challenges
IT:
- MS Office. AutoCAD is an asset
Languages:
- Basic communication skills in English is needed. Good level of writing and speaking in English is an asset
Qualification:
- Understanding of work contracts follow up challenges
- Ability to build good relationship with all stakeholders, specially with operators and local authorities
- Ability to comply to safety rules in work environment
- Extensive knowledge of Electrical infrastructures and equipments –related technical guidelines and standards
Job Description:
Goal/purpose:
The rehabilitation officer is in charge of water station/network rehabilitation works follow up as per the designs validated.
S/He is supporting the rehabilitation supervisor to follow up/realize small maintenance works.
S/He is supervising contractors responsible of rehabilitation works and ensure that activities are carried out respecting deadlines and BoQ.
Set-up and operational monitoring
o Under the supervision of the Deputy Program Manager, take part in logistical and administrative organization and the planning and preparation of works sites
o Ensure the maintenance/rehabilitation/construction work using Solidarités International tools (in particular):
o Take part in the identification of sites where work is to be carried out
o Help the rehabilitation technician for water station/network assessment (data collection)
o Follow up operational teams and contractors
o Collect information and assist in the quality analysis of the rehabilitation/construction activities carried out
o Respect deadlines established with his/her Program Supervisor
o Anticipate any problems associated with the management of his/her activity and propose solutions to avoid them
o Report to the Deputy Program Manager and/or Program Supervisor on the state of decentralized stock (‘field’ stock) on his/her sites.
o Respect Solidarités administrative procedures before, during and after each work project
o Establish safety and security measures for each activity and ensure that these rules are respected by the workforce under his/ her supervision and by the population
Reporting / communication / representation
- Share the updates regularly on the progress of activities for which s/he is responsibleArchive his/her monitoring tools and files in the Solidarités International office, where they can be accessed by the line manager
- Facilitate communication between Solidarités International and contractors, authorities and other parties, upon request and under instructions of his line manager.
- Provide oral and written description for the internal and external visitors to elaborate the design for better understanding during the site visits
