Job Requirements:         

Minimum 5 years’ field experience setting up and managing security and access in high risk areas. Understanding of security management, and preferably experience within an INGO. Experience in media monitoring and liaison (including social media). Refined skills in problem solving, planning, organizing, analysis and reporting. Strong analytical and organizational skills, and ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks. Familiarity with mapping programs, e.g. Google Earth, is an asset. Computer literate; strong MS-Excel and MS Word skills, GiS skills and or other visualization tools an advantage. Excellent spoken and written English, Arabic, Kurdish. Confidence in communicating in all these languages, and wiliness to develop better communication skills.

01 Position – Duration 06 Months

Job Description:

Stay informed (through media, social media, contacts, etc.) about the safety and security situation in NES on a daily basis. Develop and maintain an active and live database of all key actors in NES area of operations. This includes new and proposed areas of programming in close coordination with the relevant departments. Conduct field visits to gain and maintain relations with key community leaders and actors in coordination with Heads of Office and relevant departments. Capture the security and access related gaps that partners may have and assist partner organizations with the development of humanitarian access and security tools. Reports back to NES Senior Leadership and Syria Safety & Security Director with recommendations that are found through field visits. Through field visits in conjunction with the Security Assistant identify gender focused gaps in activities and support the Security Assistant in leading focus groups with female staff, Partner staff and program participants. Lead field visits to partner operations and distributions with the Security Assistant to capture Gender related risks or issues and recommend changes. Conduct SRAs for new programming areas including distribution areas as and when needed. Provide gender risk analysis and advice, and inclined it in security processes and access management.
