Job Requirements:        

Education:

 Secondary education and experience in social work, social science, psychology college degree strongly preferred. Structural engineering background can also be an asset.

Experience and technical competencies:

 Knowledge and previous experience working with persons with disabilities, facilitating sessions and group activities with population affected by the Syrian crises.

 Experience in social, personalized support (case management).

 Experience in community based rehabilitation.

 Skills on training delivery, excellent communication skills.

 Knowledge on the right of persons with disabilities.

 Advocacy skills.

 Strong organizational skills.

 Good communication skills.

 Previous experience with the organization, other international or local organizations

Ability and willingness to maintain regular presence at project sites and to travel in NES.

Languages:

 Fluent Arabic reading, writing an speaking.

 English is an asset.

We offer

We will offer the successful applicant a six months’ contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.

and be willing and able to work in Raqqa City, with frequent travels in Raqqa Governorate.

Job Description:

  1. Support inclusive livelihood programming:

 Support the organization livelihood program and partners in the identification of persons with disabilities, their needs, and build personalized tailored support.

 Run community awareness sessions in areas of intervention to help create inclusive behaviours amongst local communities.

 Encourage and promote inclusion by collaborating with beneficiaries and field partners on solutions.

 Support consortium partners through on the job-training with field staff to ensure remove of barriers for inclusive livelihoods.

 Support in the adaptation of work tools and environment for beneficiaries.

  1. Collaboration with the organization and consortium members:

 Work with the consortium members to help identify needs and gaps within their assessments, programming and identification stages.

 Build relations, collaboration and trust within the consortium staffs.

  1. Organization and roll out of workshop, trainings, meetings with and for persons with disabilities:

 Preparedness of the session (trainings, meetings, self-help groups): planning, objectives, agenda, activities, materials, transportation for participants and other resources.

 roll out of the sessions: space organization, facilitation, evaluation of the session.

  1. Creation of networks and capacity building of persons with disabilities:

 Motivate the community members and support the notion that persons with disabilities can change perceptions of communities.

 Lead and facilitate the advocacy action plan, for the program per each community location.

 Support community members to identify barriers and generate realistic mitigation strategies.

 Open channels of discussion on how persons with disabilities can raise their voice and build connections with decision makers.

 Support community members facilitators to ensure quality of self-help groups sessions implementation (action plans, tools, follow up etc.).

  1. Monitoring and evaluation:

 Support implementation and monitoring of referrals either between the organization Departments or between other NGOs and Consortium members.

 Liaise with MEAL team in filling any relevant monitoring and evaluation tools when applicable and constantly share feedback and/or complaints received from the field with the PM.

 Ensure regular collection of data on lessons learned and sharing with PM.

  1. Support other inclusion activities when needed:

 Collaborate with other departments of organization to implement inclusion mainstreaming within the programs.

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.
