Job Requirements:

Generic professional competencies:

  • Experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Good Knowledge of English and Arabic (written and spoken)

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in gathering data, processing and analyzing data and creating clear spreadsheets and mapping of such data using the appropriate tools.

  • Advanced computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point, Digital Mapping (including GIS) and Outlook;
  • Ability to take notes and minutes in meetings
  • Confidence to present data in a public forum.
  • Able to translate between English and Arabic languages, including the ability to quickly learn technical terminology.

Job Description:

Specific responsibilities • Gather information, from multiple sources, for regular reports in the Shelter, NFI Sector. • Filter, check and process data for appropriate sharing, including the mapping of activities. • Work with the NES Forum to ensure that cross cutting information is shared with the appropriate actors. • Attend Coordination meetings and compile minutes. • Attend meetings with local actors and administration bodies, and assist the Shelter, NFI Sector Coordinator with translation of discussions. • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement • Map essential humanitarian services and gaps in the Shelter, NFI Sector • Input and update sector management tools, and periodically disaggregate and analyze data gathered for the Sector level monthly reports • Identify issues in the data and inform the relevant persons, including the sector coordinator. • Attend regular sector coordination meetings, giving input as required and taking minutes of the meeting • Attend coordination meetings with the Sector coordinator and other actors, assisting with translation as required; Arabic/English/Kurdish. • Adhere to ORG’s Human Resource, Financial, Logistics & Security policies and procedures, and coordinate with these support departments to ensure timely implementation of coordination activities • Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.
