Job Requirements:

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience from working as an Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context;
  • Bachelor Degree or above in information systems management, business administration, computer science, or similar;
  • Knowledge and experience within a relevant administration, craft or technical field and ideally a relevant vocational qualification;
  • Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts;
  • Understanding of key privacy and information management ethical concerns and ability to manage information management activities within ethical guidelines;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Technical data management expertise including qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft tools and specifically in Excel;
  • Experience with information management techniques and development;
  • Knowledge of the context in Syria is desired;
  • Experience with mobile data capture desired;
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation and learning;
  • Ability to work independently in a result-oriented multi-tasking and multi-cultural environment.

Job Description:

Specific responsibilities

  • provide technical support to Livelihood & Food Security projects, includes the use of mobile data capture tools, and maintaining the library of Mobile Data Capture forms for common project cycle data;
  • responsible for ensuring good practise in ORG Mobile Data Capture form design, and remote support, training on the design and the surveys conducted to capture activities, and performing weekly spot-checks on the collected data quality;
  • responsible for supporting Livelihood & Food Security technical components of Area Office-level needs assessment. This will include Support analysis, reporting and visualisation of data capture efforts when it is needed during the Rapid Needs Assessments (RNAs), Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs), Detailed/Sectoral Assessments, etc.
  • responsible for accurate and high-quality Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of ORG Livelihood & Food Security or related activities, including information management and archiving;
  • Work closely with IMO to supervise, with support from the PM or PC, data capture processes to ensure they are implemented according to plans and agreed standards;
  • Provide analysis of information and data to address indicator reporting requirements;
  • Participate in training and support to ORG and partner staff on data capture, analysis, and use;
  • Assist IMO to maintain the CC specific portion of data capture, analysis, and warehousing platforms (e.g. Mobenzi and BOX) is well organized and accessible;
  • Lead on the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) cases received and ensure proper follow up;
  • Ensure compliance with ORG data policies;
  • report daily/weekly progress to the IMO; responsible for data entry for program transferred to database systems.
  • undertake community/field visits with field staff when requested;
  • Any other tasks delegated by Livelihood & Food Security coordinator or manager to support program staff in the field.
