▪ Nursing license or similar certificate

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

Job Description:

Job Summary

The Medical Program Officer (MPO) acts as an advocate and liaison for beneficiaries, and is responsible for identifying needs and consultations for the beneficiaries. They will work closely with the beneficiaries and their families to schedule and coordinate beneficiary consultations with the necessary specialists. They will accompany families to consultations, oversee the quality of medical care provided to beneficiaries, and communicate updates for each beneficiary to the PC and PM. The MPO maintains beneficiary records and reports these to the PC weekly and monthly. This position requires commitment and understanding of organization Mission and Statement of Faith, as well as agreement and compliance with the Organization’s statement of faith and policies.

Hours:

40+ hours/wk

Key Responsibilities

General-

 Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

 Respect the Organization values at all times, both within and outside of working hours.

 Be prepared to work within the Serekaniye Camp and at physicians offices in Hassakeh, and to relocate at short notice.

 Work closely with all members of the health team to provide the highest possible quality of care for beneficiaries.

 Treat all beneficiaries and their relatives with respect and dignity.

 Maintain confidentiality for all beneficiaries.

Technical-

▪ Has a good working understanding of organization treatment protocols and policies.

▪ Assists in coordination of ordering and delivery of assistive devices.

▪ Assist PC with the monitoring and evaluation of the program collecting beneficiary feedback to ensure the quality of program is maintained.

▪ Collect weekly and monthly reports to meet the reporting requirements and deadlines set by organization, Health Committee, WHO/UN agencies and Donors. Send these reports to HPC.

▪ Regularly communicates with the HPC and HPM to relay general flow, success, and challenges of the program.

▪ Is responsible for coordination at the ground level of getting beneficiaries to/from appointments.

Staff Management –

 Not a supervisory role

Security –

 Adhere to organization security management plan

 Report any security incidents or concerns to HPM or security personnel immediately

Communication and Coordination –

▪ Interpret as necessary between Arabic / Local language and English for the HPM and other organization staff.

▪ Coordinate and Liaise with members of the organization health management team and organization Operations Team to ensure all objectives of the health program are met.
