Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • University Degree or Diploma, , preferably in psychology, sociology, social work, mental health or related field of study preferable
  • Experience in administrative work, administrative support within the aid sector would be an advantage
  • Experience or training in mental health and psychosocial support services preferable
  • Experience working with NGOs or international organizations preferable
  • Experience in community health outreach desirable
  • Must submit copies of highest educational qualifications received and present original upon interview
  • Fluent English and Arabic
  • Field work understanding/experience
  • Openness to working with displaced communities
  • Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish preferable including writing clear and concise reports
  • Good communication skills and writing skills an added advantage
  • Ability to work well as a team & independently
  • writing and reading skills essential
  • Experience working with MHPSS, protection or case management in a humanitarian setting preferable
  • Experience in MHPSS Programming in emergency situations preferable
  • Comfortable to both work independently and take initiative as well as cooperatively with team members
  • Demonstrated high level of flexibility, responsiveness, and reliability
  • Strong work-ethic and hard-working
  • Ability to work under pressure and strong time management skills to meet both short-term and long-term objectives
  • Strict adherence to humanitarian and Protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Child safeguarding.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

           

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Under the management of the MHPSS Team Leader:

  • Support the implementation of MHPSS services and activities through conducting stakeholder mappings, building relationships, supporting in assessments.
  • Door to door community MHPSS outreach services
  • Organizing community based MHPSS event and activities
  • Facilitating community based MHPSS trainings
  • Supporting the establishment of referral pathways
  • Submit weekly community based MHPSS reports
  • Perform any other duties as specified by Supervisor
  • Raising Procurement Requisitions and following up on procurements, Human Resource and Financial issues
  • Submitting monthly movement and activity plans
  • Provide Psychological First Aid, psychosocial support, case management, psychosocial group activities, community awareness and trainings
  • Develop care and safety plans that are individualized, mutually developed and jointly monitored with the beneficiary
  • Monitor on-going care plan development with special attention to safety issues
  • Coordinates the provision of social services to beneficiary, caregivers, families, and significant others (includes referrals) to enable them to deal with the impact of mental illness on individual family functioning and to achieve maximum benefits from healthcare and support services
  • Serve as a beneficiary advocate
  • Make appropriate referrals to other services
  • Facilitate community group support sessions
  • Maintains current and comprehensive client files and client logs as well as documentation related to group work, community activities and trainings
  • Report on all tasks and responsibilities including referrals using collection tools provided by MRFS
  • Reporting on evolving needs in the community, gaps in service access, and trends among targeted populations relevant to program implementation
  • Any other duties as required by supervisor
