Job Requirements:

  1. Sc. Degree in Agricultural Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience as Agricultural Engineer.
  • Use computer software for daily works (MS Excel, MS Word, etc.) • Good analytical, communcation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Plan and work together with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineers to ensure effective and desirable outcomes.
  • Fluent in Arabic language and good English language skills.

Job Description:

In full compliance to SWEDO’s Code of Conduct and local laws, undertake the following duties:

  • Support the cooperatives by selecting youth trainees for various tasks such as; tractor driver, combined harvester drivers, agricultural equipment usage and maintenance. Ensure that each trainee is fully aware of the use and purpose of every agricultural equipment in their custody.
  • Provide day to day support to cooperatives on the best use of the equipment, accessories and materials that are provided to them by SRTF and the project.
  • Support the cooperatives by setting up schedule of fees to be charged for various services offered by the agricultural equipment.
  • Guide the cooperatives and farmers on new techniques for better use of their resources, reducing costs and maximizing productivity.
  • Test agricultural machinery and equipment to ensure that they perform properly.
  • Provide advice on water quality and issues related to pollution management, furthermore, provide advice on road renovation plans whenever and wherever needed.
  • Advise others regarding green practices or environmental concerns.
  • Plan and direct construction of rural electric-power distribution systems.
  • Visit sites to observe environmental problems, to consult with contractors, and/or to monitor Vocational Training Centers activities.
  • Discuss plans with Team Leader, contractors, consultants, and other engineers so that they can be evaluated and necessary changes made.
  • Conduct educational programs that provide farmers/beneficiaries or farm cooperative members with information that can help them improve agricultural productivity.
  • Train beneficiaries on proper operational procedures.
  • Meet with beneficiaries, district committees, and farmers to discuss their needs.
  • Be very respectful to the donor’s staff and its independent monitoring agency personnel at the field. Listen to their opinions and give feedback to the supervisor.
  • Any other given task by supervisor.
