Job Requirements:        

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or other relevant training
  • Good working knowledge of English language
  • Minimum three years professional experience in implementing GBV response programs.
  • Knowledge of GBVIMS or confidential data entry
  • Excellent computer skills and abilities in Excel, Word, and web-based platforms/databases, and the ability to train others in these systems;
  • Good communication, listening and social skills
  • skills in group learning techniques, as well as skills in problem solving, conflict resolution, team building, planning and organizing
  • Knowledge of working with NGOS
  • Professional experience in GBV prevention and response programs in emergency
  • Thorough understanding of best practices in GBV response and GBV primary prevention and risk reduction
  • Clear understanding of gender, human rights, and issues surrounding violence against girls.
  • Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, prioritize work under pressure
  • Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish(written and spoken)
  • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Medical relief for Syria
  • As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Medical relief for Syria and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.

Job Description:

  • Directly oversee all GBV data collection and management with the support and supervision of the GBV Managers and Coordinator
  • Ensure data received from the field teams is correctly entered into the program trackers on a regular weekly basis gather, consolidate, clarify errors and clear the program data;
  • Ensure accurate and regular data entry and review, including robust analysis and identification of trends, following the GBV information management protocols and standards set out by the GBVIMS;
  • Maintain the GBV information management system and ensure safe, ethical, and accurate documentation, filing, storing and usage of information
  • Share weekly the updated Program Data and Indicator tracker with the GBV Manager, alongside a brief trends analysis report on cases documented to guide GBV prevention activities and inform programming;
  • Ensure all hard copy of case management and GBV activities files are securely stored (i.e. in strong lockable file cabinets where appropriate);
  • Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation, including leading on or supporting the team with focus group discussions, community consultations, and carrying out feedback surveys with women and adolescent girls;
  • Analyze and share results of safety audits, focus groups, and community consultations, including identifying trends and context changes;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the M&E plans for the GBV program;
  • Support the GBV team on the GBV emergency assessments in case of new displacement;
  • Regularly visit program activities to ensure that all data is correctly collected and stored, and shared in a timely manner;
  • Use project indicator data to monitor achievement towards objectives; report any projected shortcomings or gaps to the GBV Managers and Coordinator ;
  • In coordination with the MEAL team, develop online database forms and other tools to facilitate the collection of data from field-based staff;
  • Support proposal development as necessary.
  • Submit monthly program data and indicator tracking reports and analysis to the GBV Coordinator and GBV Managers, in-line with safety and ethical standards;
  • Compile, edit, and write monthly and quarterly GBV quantitative program reports using assigned template, including collating reports from field staff and producing final information products
  • Act as focal point for Activity Info and other quantitative donor reporting
  • Train and offer needed support to GBV staff to correctly and effective use GBVIMS tools (GBV Classification tool, consent form, intake form, incident recorder & ISP) and GBV case trackers and other program activity and indicator trackers;
  • Train GBV program staff in data collection and reporting tools and requirements as needed;
  • Train WPE program staff on online databases as needed
