Job Requirements:
Education Education level in social science, social communication, or and related field.
Experience • Minimum 1 year of experience in psycho-social / counseling educating, or related field.
Languages • Essential, Arabic & English.
Job Description:
Job Purpose: Perform basic counseling and/or educational activities to patients, families, communities, following the organization protocols and procedures, in order to improve the health condition of the patients.
- Actively promote the availability of the organization services
- Carry out, individually or in group, basic counseling and/or educational sessions, to patients, their families, hospital staff and/or the community
- Refer patients when necessary to other specialists or external actors in order to provide the best available support
- Collect and report specific information related to the target group
- Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/or educational activities
- Give testimonies to patients and in the community on own experiences as a patient(*).
THE ORGANIZATION Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
- In collaboration with the MHAM (Mental Health Activity Manager) identify the needs and ensuring the mental health activities are performed to provide the most appropriate MH support to the clients in THE ORGANIZATION clininc and in othe possible locations to be identified
- In collaboration with MHAM and SV focal point provide MH support to the survivors in the clinic and in other possible locations to be identified.
- In collaboration with the medical team support the activities intgreting the MH component.
- Ensuring the quality of care and data collection (DHIS) for mental health activities.
- Ensuring confidentiality in and out the organization working places.
- Flexible and respectful towards the other staff members.
- Makes part of the target group of patients and is willing to share his own experiences as a patient (*) (*) only valid for peer educators/counselors
