Qualifications/Technical skills
- Familiarity with the humanitarian context affecting Syrian communities;
- Experience of working for an international humanitarian organization is desirable;
- Minimum required education – University degree in education, psychology, pedagogy, social work or relevant (obligatory);
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in child care, teaching or similar (obligatory);
- Previous experience in CFS/PSS will be considered as an advantage (desired);
- Previous experience in working with ASER, SDQ and Washington Group Questionnaire will be considered as an advantage;
- Previous experience in working with children with special needs will be considered as an advantage (desired);
- Experience in report writing (desired);

الوصف الوظيفي:
- Supervise the PSS, recreational and non-formal educational (NFE) activities for children from 6 to 18 years old (including children with special needs) in the Temporary Learning Centre (TLC).
- Provide ongoing support and technical inputs for the design and execution of daily activities in the TLC, including gap filling when needed;
- Ensure that PSS, recreational and NFE activities are conducted according to the agreed plan of action and schedule, in line with CvT’s quality standards;
- Supervise and ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within the TLC including that all staff abides by the signed CVT’s CoC and policies including PSEA and the CP policy;
- Supervise and ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, respected;
- Be the focal point for CP related topics, including identification and referral of children in distress;
- Organize, support and participate in community and caregiver engagement activities;
- Ensure direct communication and feedback with caregivers and relevant host community;
- Responsible for administrative and HR field matters, including leave and performance evaluation;
- Provide training to the TLC team on various topics;
- Compile bi-weekly and monthly reports in Arabic and/or English and other (online) documentation (e.g. attendance lists), to be submitted to the EDU/PSS Officer;
- Support the MEAL and Protection team during data collection and assessments, including the collection of Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ);
- Actively contributes to the mainstreaming of protection into all stages of the project cycle;
- Able to identify problems and resolutions, as well as ensuring a good team atmosphere;
- Understand and abide by the mission’s National Staff Handbook, the principles of the TLC and Cvt’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection policies, and other relevant guidelines;
- Able to respectfully represent CVT in front of local camp administration / camp management bodies;
- Any other task as requested by CVT’s EDU/PSS Team.
