Job Title: Project Officer  livelihoods

Duty Station: Northeast Syria, Deir Ezzor – Hajin.

Job Requirements:

  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • English (professional/working level)
  • Arabic (native/professional written and spoken)

General Work Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in relevant livelihood projects.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, and Arabic.
  • Experience in project management (e.g., monitoring, reporting).

Job Description:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with management and project staff.
  • Build and maintain relationships with beneficiary communities; contribute to maintenance of relationships with other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure beneficiaries are consulted and their views are considered during all stages of project implementation.
  • Support ongoing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities, in accordance with the project’s MEAL plan with a particular emphasis on documenting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Support the MEAL team with the baseline and final evaluations.
  • Support the Project Coordinator ensures timely preparation of high-quality donor/partner reports, as well as other reports needed/required by the local government, donors, clusters, the region, or headquarters as per reporting schedule.
  • Ensure child protection policies and code of conduct are being followed and promote appropriate health and safety mechanisms.
  • Take part in regular team and staff meetings.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Control the operation part of the budget and raise PRs according to the procurement plan.
  • Coordinate and proactively engage with the project team at the project sites in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities, which may engage in direct implementation as well.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, priorities and constraints and assist with the administrative duties related to the running of livelihoods activities in the project.
  • Ensure activities are completed with quality and within time and report any concerns to the project coordinator.
  • Ensure that the M&E systems are effectively implemented in each project site, and its tools are in place. This includes the systematic implementation and follow-up on agreed technical livelihood quality benchmarks.
  • Actively support the development and implementation of an effective Accountability Mechanism of the project (/partner), with the focus on a) Adequate information sharing, b) Complaints and Feedback Mechanism and c) Safe, Meaningful and Ethical Participation, in collaboration with SC’s and partner’s Accountability officer/focal point.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals, in collaboration with other program staff.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Project Coordinator, and the Head of Programming.

Other Information’s:

A degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Community Development or related field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in livelihoods programmes, entrepreneurship, vocational training, job placement, social work
