Job Requirements:

  • Education
  • Graduate or undergraduate of an Institute or University in a related field with at least 1 year or work experience in the field of data management
  • Experience
  • Excellent computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office especially MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Soft skills
  • Ability to work independently while under pressure and during long hours.
  • Have excellent work habits with a willingness to work in a multicultural environment
  • Able to travel to all provinces in Iraq for any data entry support.
  • Programmes
  • Basic skills in using ArcGIS software.
  • Flexible and adaptable to any situation.
  • Languages
  • Ability to translate Arabic to English and English to Arabic

Job Description:

  • Collect data in the process for data entry to IMMAP system.
  • Receiving and verifying reports from different sources and enter to IMMAP database.
  • Maintain a high standard for the GIS capabilities within the Information Management.
  • Preparing user guide the database and translates to different language.
  • Perform checks of records to ensure data quality.
  • Assist the NGO staff in completing and updating all the data fields in IMMAP’s database
  • Prepare all weekly and monthly reports on Data entry section in Information Management office for the office review.
  • Able to travel to all provinces in NES for any Information Management support.
  • Perform any additional task assigned by the supervisor

REPORTING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION

  • The GIS Developer will make report to iMMAP Senior Information Management Officer

REPRESENTATION

  • Where appropriate, represent the iMMAP project team within partners, and participate in local community activities.
  • Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with iMMAP officers and staff, and external contacts with national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), donor agency officials, vendors, media, and the general public.
  • Follow iMMAP’s branding regulations required for marking, or branding, of all iMMAP products and correspondence.

SECURITY

  • Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP Country Security Advisor.

  • As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient, and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that all team members will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.

Background

The project aims to provide information management and coordination support to Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) stakeholders within North East Syria to improve coordination and increase capacity building. Secondly, it’s to improve the HMA common operating picture in Syria through continued technical support of the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA) and humanitarian access and risk mitigation (HARM) software. Lastly, improve coordination between all HMA stakeholders with NGOs, national authorities, and international agencies, to increase the effectiveness of HMA activities in the region.
