Job Requirements:

Education:

Should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or similar.
  • Good English language skills, both written and oral.

Experience:

Should have:

  • 2-5 years of experience as an IT support or IT security specialist, preferably within the Aid Sector.
  • Good experience with data analysis systems.
  • Good experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
  • Very good experience with Windows and Office 365.
  • Very good experience with IOS and Android maintenance.
  • Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Good team worker with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues.
  • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Good knowledge of database maintenance and system security.

Other qualifications:

  • Strong IT technical and coordination skills, with the ability to lead, inspire and build competence of implementing partner staff and achieve results through others.

Personal Competencies:

  • Self-driven with integrity, initiative and ability to think and work independently
  • Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills

Job Description:

General description:

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager (PM) and technical support for the Security Manager, the position holder will be responsible for working alongside the partners, programme team, and specialists, supporting the development of the EWER system, digitalization of non-formal activities, and ensure all activities are aligned to NPA strategic aims to enhance partners IT digital security capacity and fully coordinated with the CVE and People’s Participations programmes objectives. The position will scope, develop, and provide bilateral IT and cyber security technical capacity-building support, including training activities for all partners, exchange local visits and sharing best practices. Furthermore, the position will follow up and maintain the EWER system technical operations and partners to enhance digital peacebuilding and understand and prevent the spread of violent extremism.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Cooperate and follow up with partners regarding data analysis systems, websites, and other technical issues.
  • Perform daily technical and security checks and prepare performance reports and system status.
  • Rapid response to technical and cyber security issues.
  • Provide IT support and troubleshooting to staff members, acting as IT Focal Point to the Country Programme.
  • Responding to and troubleshooting all website and systems issues.
  • Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Raise the partner’s and NPA staff’s knowledge of cybersecurity risks and support partners with the organization’s devices on the use of the systems.
  • Providing updates on existing cyber security threats that may affect the organisation’s work.
  • Conduct necessary IT and Cyber Security assessments for partners’ capacity building, developing capacity building plans and tools, and appropriate follow-up.
  • Contribute as required to programme reports accurately and on time. Provide the Projects Managers with programme materials, status, and outcomes as requested.
  • Identify any IT and cyber security issues in the programme and report them to the appropriate personnel, including reporting security incidents/concerns.
  • Other duties assigned by, Programme Manager and Security Manager or in relation to programme issues.

Programme and Thematic Responsibility:

  • Conduct significant IT and Cyber Security capacity-building initiatives for partners based on the programme objective and in-depth dialogue and an assessment of needs.
  • Support initiatives to understand the digitalisation activities and use of technologies, ensure the EWER system are well developed, used and maintained by partners.
  • Work on digitalising the non-formal education curriculum. Use of technologies in the programme’s activities.
  • Work with the consultant/s to develop the ICT toolbox in terms of required IT technical supports, provide needed technical inputs and follow up on partners capacity training needs.
  • Provide quality reports on the progress and achievements of the conducted IT technical trainings events.
  • Tracking the partners use and utilization of technical knowledge and skills acquired in technical trainings and workshops and developing relevant tools for this purpose in liaison with the institutional development coordinator.
  • Serves as the IT technical focal point for coordination with partners across NES and other initiatives working on digitalisation activities.
