Job Description:

The Social Worker- Protection will be support the Protection Assistant in supervising the org partnerships and activities in the Protection program and projects. He/she will directly deliver awareness raising campaigns, community engagement activities, and referrals, and as necessary follow-up partners and communities to monitor project activities, S/he will ensure project progress is in line with the org Protection strategy and adhere to humanitarian principles, the org policies, procedures, projects’ objectives and activities and donors’ requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Protection Assistant in developing work plans (daily and weekly) for protection activities.
  • Conduct daily activity visits and deliver community activities using the specific methodologies, approaches, and form. Raise issues, red flags, challenges and needs for adjustments systematically to the line manager.
  • Ensure effective use of resources for the projects to achieve protection and GiE outcomes.
  • Support the Protection Partnership Assistant in ensuring coherency in intervention with the org Protection Program and facilitate coordination between the org Protection team and communities.
  • Attend and take part in the meetings necessary for passing on information for the smooth running of activities.
  • Attend relevant trainings on Protection, GBV, Psychosocial Support and others when requested.
  • Support the Protection Partnership Assistant in mapping training and capacity-building opportunities in the community.
  • Under the supervision of the Protection Partnership Assistant and with the PSEA Focal Point, contribute in ensuring compliance towards the org PSEA and CS policies and build capacities to better prevent, mitigate and address PSEA and CS risks.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping of all activities monitoring and reporting tools and prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly activity reports on time.
  • Periodically collect data and regularly update individual monitoring files of the program beneficiaries, as well as attendance sheets and progress towards targets.
  • Keep proper records of expenditures and report on these to the line manager.
  • Ensure understanding of and compliance to the org PSEA and Child Safeguarding policies and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure affected populations are fully aware about the org PSEA and CS policies and know how to report in a safe and confidential way
