Job Requirements:
B.Sc. Degree in water or civil engineering is preferable, construction management or related to the role.
Team management and leadership skills
Well drilling experience
Fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Capability to establish good and respectful relationships with other actors, stakeholders
Able to train and manage a team (to listen, advise, support, solve conflicts, motivate, etc.);
Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, monitoring and reporting.
Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct.
Fluency in written and spoken English is highly recommended and the local language (Arabic) is a must.
Job Description:
Leadership and overall coordination at all levels during planning, design, implementation, etc. with all related departments, to ensure project implementation according to plans and schedule.
Managing boreholes, in compliance with the international codes (e.g. API).
Developing and reviewing well data logs, well graphs and water quality datasets.
Managing and supervising well pumping tests under different conditions.
Actively participating in the development and design of water supply system networks, pumping systems and water treatment plans.
Leading the site engineering activities and liaising with all related teams, and local entities.
Daily field visits of the projects and ensures the implementation as planned.
Directing different projects that are being implemented, assuring the overall compliance of the work to contract, design drawings, specifications, and instructions.
Reporting on a regular basis daily and weekly for activities and preparing project support documents. Compile of field related data and information.
Ensure that there is convergence and synergy with the ongoing projects/programs, quality of the works is maintained, and there is strict compliance with the relevant national codes.
Explore the scope of using local and environment-friendly material and mainstreaming climate change concerns in the design and implementation of works to the extend feasible.
Involve the local resources as far as possible and develop human capital with enhanced skills viewing construction as an opportunity.
Providing leadership and guidance in the use of engineering equipment and devices (e.g., Level, Total Station…etc.)
Organize condition assessment surveys, and preparation of detailed BOQs, bid documents.
Any other duties assigned by line manager
Develop a good working relation with Public Works Department, Local Authority, and build their capacity under the project.
Ensure that there is proper coordination between the firms engaged under the project.
Ensure that the overall works component is completed on time and to the required quality.
Regular visit to the project sites to ensure quality of the implemented works and coordinate with M&E and QA/QC staff for any raised/found issues.
