Job Requirements:

  • At least 6-months experience s in Humanitarian
  • Ability to do the following:

1-       Data collection and assessments

2-       Weekly production and diffusion of IM products: Including but not limited to: Demographic database, Workers’ database, Site Factsheet, Vulnerability mapping, 4Ws.

3-       Maintain positive relationships with the community

4-       Support with technical IM assistance other units of the MCCCM team

5-       Support IMO in managing the MCCCM monitors: Including but not limited to hold a contact list for committees, support in the draft of service monitoring and other factsheets, support with designs for IEC material for information/awareness campaign in the camp, support with production of training material, etc

  • Ensure protection mainstreaming
  • Experience interacting with external and internal partners.
  • Fluency writing and speaking local language.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Interpersonal and communication Skills

Does not reside in the camp

Desired:

o        Translation skills (from Arabic to English and vice-versa).

o        Certificate/Training in business management, accounting, or administration, database.

o        3-months managerial experience, including leading/supervising staff, report writing, meeting facilitation.

o        Good in speaking and written English

Job Description:

  • The MCCCM assistant -information Management assistant (IMA) supports the MCCCM officer of informal sites, risk, and safety audits of informal sites, providing capacity building training to local municipality staff, and providing outreach and awareness sessions to the informal site population, day-to-day visit to of informal sites dynamics and conditions, as well as asses the quality of work. Ensuring work plans and project targets are achieved according to set timelines standards, Create coordination mechanisms and work closely with other humanitarian actors, government, authorities, and beneficiaries. Provide mentorship and capacity building to various actors as needed
  • Reporting to the MCCCM Information Management Officer (IMO), the Information Management Assistant will be responsible to support the ongoing daily coordination of information needed for the site, including collecting, processing, analysing, and disseminating camp/site information. The IMA will also support ongoing verification exercises in the camp and supervise MCCCM monitors as needed. Finally, the IMA will provide data-related information to camp residents and respond to questions and concerns by residents in a respectful manner.

Objectives

  • Support IMO in the production/update/translation of MCCCM IM products.
  • Support IMO in the diffusion of the IM products to external stakeholders.
  • Support IMO in the organization/follow-up of operational/sectorial/ad hoc meetings in the camps.
  • Support IMO in provision of IM technical support to another unit of the MCCCM departments;
  • Support IMO in the management of the MCCCM monitors in their verification works of demographic/vulnerability data.
  • Support in the management of sharing information with the community in camp, informal settlement, and collective centres
  • Support in the reporting of the CwC/Self-governance activities, and creation of communication channels with site leaders

Key roles and responsibilities

  1. Data collection and assessments

Conduct data collection and assessment exercises (including collection and analysis) as needed by the IMO and ensure that data collection and storage is in line with ACTED’s data protection principles

  1. Weekly production and diffusion of IM products

Including but not limited to: Demographic database, Workers’ database, Site Factsheet, Vulnerability mapping, 4Ws.

  1. Maintain positive relationships with the community

Provide informed feedback related to IM and data management to residents requesting information and support solving community issues related to IM.

  1. Support with technical IM assistance other units of the MCCCM team

Including but not limited to hold a contact list for committees, support in the draft of service monitoring and other factsheets, support with designs for IEC material for information/awareness campaign in the camp, support with production of training material, etc.

  1. Support IMO in managing the MCCCM monitors

Including but not limited to: assignment of weekly tasks, monitoring of tasks’ completion, reporting.

  1. Ensure protection mainstreaming
  2. Support and consider gender, protection, and GBV concerns in all aspects of activities.
  3. Adhere and Promote to Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse principles and guidelines (for site residents, ACTED staff, partner agencies)
  4. Support and promote participation of women, youth, and marginalised groups

Refer immediately protection cases identified to ACTED Protection Officer for referral to protection actors.
