Technical abilities:
– 6 months to 1 year of progressive experience in the same areas.
– Previous experience in implementing HP activities in urban setting / city is appreciated
– Previous NGO experience is highly requested.
– Knowledge of Informal Settlement context is appreciated.
– Skills in mobile data collection (kobo) and data base management is appreciated.
– Good IT Skills (Pack Office).
Personal abilities:
- Rigorous, organized, trustful

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic English mandatory on WASH activities
- Arabic (Read-Write-Speak) is mandatory
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the HP Supervisor, the hygiene promotion officer operates, supervises and monitor SI activities of Hygiene Promotion, community mobilization and distributions respecting deadlines and culturally accepted practices of the local population.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up and operational monitoring of Hygiene promotion activities
- Under the supervision of the WASH program manager, take part in logistical and administrative organization and the planning and preparation of Hygiene Promotion activities, ensure the work using Solidarités International tools (in particular):
o Take part in the identification targeting where work is to be carried out
o Recruit and train the HP workers
o Respect deadlines established with his/her program manager
- Organize, plan and supervise community participation, especially intervention in villages and in Raqqa city targeting household behaviours.
- Anticipate any problems associated with the management of his/her activity and propose solutions to avoid them
- Manage the supply of worksite materials by collaborating with the logistics department
- Report to the HP and distribution supervisor on the state of decentralized stock (‘field’ stock) on his/her sites.
- Take part to the evaluation of the technical competence of contractors and workers
- Respect Solidarités administrative procedures before, during and after each work project
- Establish safety and security measures for each activity and ensure that these rules are respected by the workforce under his/ her supervision and by the population
Set-up and operational monitoring of distributions
- Under the responsibility of the HP and distribution supervisor, take part in logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation of distributions.
- Implement distribution using Solidarités International tools, in particular:
o Take part in the census and registration of beneficiaries
o Implement site distribution
o Recruit and train daily workers
o Delegate daily worker site tasks according to the supervisor’s instructions
o Supervise distribution to beneficiaries
- Ensure that each registered, identified beneficiary has benefited from distributions
- After distribution has taken place, calculate and confirm the number of households which benefited, and the quantity of goods distributed
- Gather and replace materials used during distribution
- Respect Solidarités International’s administrative procedures before, during, and after distribution
Reporting/communication /representation
- Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the Solidarités office, accessible to his/her Supervisor and/or project manager
- Take part in seminars and workshops related to the carrying out of activities and to project objectives
- Report to the HP and Distribution supervisor regarding the development of activities and specific tasks that he/she has been assigned, any problems encountered and the quality of relations with the beneficiaries
- Report back all information or problems linked to his/her activity, Solidarités programs or safety issues.
- Under the supervision of the team supervisor, participate in the drafting of distribution reports
o Pass on any information regarding the distribution process
o Extract and pass on distribution statistics to the team supervisor and/or program manager
- Take part in the drafting of project progress reports and database under the supervision of the HP and Distribution Supervisor
- Listen to the local population and authorities in order to identify any needs, complaints, or major events which could affect the activities of Solidarités
- Analyse the humanitarian situation by taking into account protection issues/Do No Harm to the population
- Collaborate with local authorities and administration
- Take part in restitution meetings and clusters on request
