Job Requirements:

To be successful in this role you must have:

Education

–        University degree in Psychology or Social Sciences

Professional & Personal skills:

–        At least one year of professional experience in mental health and psychosocial support / protection issues

–        Previous experience with international or local NGOs

–        Flexibility and ability to work in a multicultural environment with cultural sensitivity, respect and neutrality

–        Open and interested to work in disability related issues

–        Able to work independently and with autonomy, while following objectives and instructions

–        Good time management and task management skills

Language:

–        Arabic mandatory, English working Knowledge + any other local language is a big asset

We offer

The organization will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st Dec 2022, renewable depending on both funding and performance and be willing and able to work in Al Hol camp.

Salary and conditions will be according to the salary grid. Minimum 791 USD/month + (allowances).

Job Description:

Under the line management of the Health Project Supervisor and the functional management of the Technical Officer Psychosocial Support (PSS), the Psychosocial (PSS) Worker is responsible to facilitate the resilience of persons with disabilities, injuries or amputations and their families, enabling them to bounce back from the impact of personal and societal crisis. His/her job will consist of identifying and assessing the specific needs of the programmer beneficiaries related to psychosocial distress due to health conditions and provide psychosocial support through short term counseling.

HIERARCHICAL RELATIONSHIPS

Line manager: Health Project Supervisor

Functional Link: Technical Officer Psychosocial Support (PSS)

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify specific psychosocial needs of beneficiaries/caregivers and developing a caring plan

–        Support the global rehabilitation approach, working closely with Rehabilitation workers and other available services and referral mechanisms, to ensure a comprehensive approach

–        Develop rapport, conduct psychosocial assessment and set counseling goals along with the beneficiary

–        Be vigilant of and assign priority to most vulnerable cases

–        Assess related protection issues at individuals and familial level

–        While working as mobile/outreach team, identify and document beneficiaries specifics needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities) and discuss with the technical line manager

  1. Respond to the identified needs, by providing direct support (psychosocial support) and make referrals where needed

–        Create an adequate and feasible action plan for each case based on the need assessment

–        Maintain database and reporting of activities through reporting tools (hard and soft form) and as instructed by the TO PSS

–        Discuss with the TO PSS all the cases that require internal (internal services) and external referral for specialized services

–        Ensure to carry out the follow up of the beneficiaries

–        Prepare and present case studies in multidisciplinary team meetings

–        Prioritize one on one and group supervision meeting with the TO PSS and share the challenges and seek support

  1. Share the relevant updates and information with technical and functional line managers

–        Upload data on Survey 123, follow-up cases regularly (quantitative and qualitative reporting)

–        Follow-up of individual and caregivers cases closely

–        Prepare weekly plan within the multidisciplinary team, with the support of  TO PSS

  1. Demonstrate an ethic practice and willingness to improve professional competences

–        Implement a ‘do no harm’ approach, remaining aware of the limits of your own scope of practice and seeking technical guidance whenever unsure

–        Respect beneficiary confidentiality and point of view

–        Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies among the teams or partners

–        Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others

–        Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers

–        Always respect a refusal of treatment

–        Participate in the different activities, meetings and training that are common to all org team member

Skills
