Job Requirements:

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline;
  • Fluent English and Arabic (written and spoken);
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • At least 8 years work experience with an INGO in an emergency and/or development setting or other relevant field;
  • At least 3 years as a manager of a team (3 or more people) in any role
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to travel/work in NE Syria.

Job Description:

The REACH Field Manager responsibilities include:

  • COORDINATION

The field manager coordinates the development and implementation of data collection activities at the base level in collaboration with the respective assessment officers and research managers. The field manager provides general support, guidance, and serves as a focal point for the data collection planning and execution.

  • MANAGEMENT

The field manager oversees management of all field staff, data collection activities, administration, and security of the operation as well as coordination with ACTED staff at the base level. The field manager ensures that ACTED procedures and regulations applicable to REACH with regards to programs, logistics, security, HR, and administration are closely followed.

  • REPRESENTATION

The field manager represents REACH at the base level, including meetings with ACTED (such as protocol and security meetings) as well as with external stakeholders as is relevant.

  • LOGISTICS

The field manager is in charge of implementing coverage plans, as well as supporting the operations support unit for procurement of assets and their transport/storage, organization, and distribution of all IT equipment appropriate for the respective bases.

  • ADMINISTRATION / HUMAN RESOURCES

The field manager is responsible for supporting management of finances and administration at base level, as needed and relevant, and providing support to the operations support officer. The field manager also ensures planning and management of human resources in accordance with ACTED guidelines.

  • SECURITY

The field manager, with support from head of operations, is responsible for coordinating base security management with ACTED security and ensuring the safety of REACH staff and assets. The field manager monitors the political, economic, and social environment in the area, assesses and analyses the risks, and monitors and reports to the head of operations whether the situation is appropriate for undertaking REACH data collection activities and in what form. Additionally, the field manager coordinates all field movement with ACTED security, keeping the head of operations informed at all times.
