An international organization is looking for a Position of
Civil Engineer – Short-term consultant. Raqqa
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The civil engineer will be performing autonomously, specific advanced construction works and ensuring the daily management on the worksite involving all activities needed to resume building activities, according to supervisor’s instructions and the organization protocols, standards and procedures, in order to ensure a proper functioning and maintenance of the organization installations and infrastructures.
SCOPE OF ROLE
- Reports to: Log Officer
- Technical report to: Field Manager, Project Manager.
- Base: Position will be based in Raqqa
TASKS DESCRIPTION:
- Conduct rehabilitation assessment for the 6 PHCs in Raqqa and produce detail BoQ for procurement process.
- Creating a rehabilitation schedule for all related building activities and making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in the PHCs and assisting the logistics department for any relative work needed.
- Support the supervisors with BoQ descriptions, tender process and negotiation with contractors.
- Ensuring that the technical specification is being follow up during the construction process
- Supervise the construction site and assure that is proceeding according to the technical specifications.
- Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to the rehabilitation are always completed.
- Supervise the quality of the material deliver by contractors ensuring the weekly report of the construction process (technical quality and schedule follow up)
- Immediately informing the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins
- Working in collaboration with other specialised technicians and workers, if necessary
- For each initiative, the civil Engineer shall submit reports after conducting the site visits, and a final report after the completion of the work.
- Any other related organizational tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.
PROFILE:
- Education: Essential Civil Engineer profile (BA in civil engineering)
- Experience: Experience in field construction, network and plumbing
- experience with INGO is an asset.
- Computer literacy and engineering software’s
- English essential
Duration of the Work
- Three months.
