About the job

Under the management of the Health Project Manager, the Interpreter will provide translation services to Qamishly KRC team and Hassakeh health department. According to the position, the Translator must keep all the data confidential, and share it only with the designated persons. Should the employee not comply with these rules, he/she will be charged for serious professional misconduct.

Line manager:                   Health project manager

Line manager+1:             Hub Manager

Technical link:                   Prosthetic and orthotic Technical Advisor, PSS Technical Advisor, and Rehabilitation Technical Advisor

Supervision:                      N / A

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS

Written translation of official documents related to health department from Arabic into English and vice versa

2.TRANSLATING THE TRAININGS:

Verbal translation and interpretation from Arabic into English and vice versa during health activities; between staff and beneficiaries or during the trainings and meetings.

3.TRANSLATING THE EXTERNAL MEETINGS

Support the Organization’s employees in the translation and interpretation during external meetings with local authorities, local organization and local partners.

Support the Organization’s employees in the translation and interpretation during field visits.

4.REPORTING

Provide any additional support upon request of Line Manager;

 

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

Education and experience:

  • University Degree in English Literature or Translation.

Professional Competencies Required:

  • English, Kurdish and Arabic fluency in both writing and speaking is compulsory.
  • Experience in a technical health, medicine, rehabilitation, MHPSS field translation and P&O field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical interpretation, preferably with INGOs
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point).
  • Very good communication and active listening skills.

 

We offer

The organization will offer the successful applicant a part time contract 60% until 30th April 2024 contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. The expected starting date is on 01 February 2024.

And be willing and able to work in Al Hasakeh Government.

Salary and conditions will be according to salary grid. 790 USD/month + (allowances).
