Job Requirements:

Essential

  • University degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Humanitarian work
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in Protection programming. .
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in child protection implementation: outreach, assessment, psychosocial support, case management, referrals
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination nonviolent communication skills.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
  • Commitment to organization equal opportunity and gender practices.
  • Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Good written and spoken English skills.

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

 We are  non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. we response to the Syria crisis started in April 2013. currently has Protection Programming across five locations, in North East Syria.

The Referral & Coordination Officer, supervised by the Protection Manager, will oversee the management of internal and external coordination and referral mechanisms within t NES Program. This includes:

– Handling both incoming and outgoing internal and external referrals

Taking the lead in organizing and facilitating area coordination meetings, all of which will be conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Protection Manager.

Main duties &

Responsibilities:

Referrals Focal Point:

– Ensures all protection referral services within organization  referral system are delivered to refer cases according to referral SOP and at the different levels of referral activity.

– Works closely with other  project officers, to ensure well implementation of referral activity.

– Works closely with external project officers, to ensure well implementation of referral activity.

– Manages all protection incoming and outgoing referral processes

– Monitors and ensures, that all referred cases are matching with organization  criteria of referral

– He/she is responsible in conducting referral training

– Builds and maintain good relationships with relevant agencies and service providers to support the referral pathways.

– Responds to case feedback and complaints and ensure services are provided to beneficiaries in a proper way.

– Provides regularly updated database of referrals, including summarized information and preliminary analysis.

– Works closely with the Protection manager to analyze the referrals database for lessons to be learned and makes suggestions to improve referral system based on quantitative and qualitative standards.

– Report any problem in a timely manner if needed.

Protection Area based Coordination meetings:

– Timely preparation and facilitations of the Protection Area based in addition   draft minutes of meeting and follows up on action points, in the different areas where organization  is leading

– Coordination with the Protection Area Based Coordination meetings Co-leaders

– Vetting of new members and ensuring the Skype group and mailing list are up to date with PWG confirmation.

– Ensures open and ongoing information sharing among members and represents the group within other area based interagency platforms including inter-sectoral coordination, and others as appropriate.

– Trends, gaps, challenges identification and advocacy to  Protection manager and Protection Coordinator.

– Ensures that all protection coordination plans and decisions are developed/taken through a consultative process with the members of the coordination.

– In consultation with the PWG coordinator, represent the protection-working group with authorities, security forces, donors, and other stakeholders as appropriate and needed, in the areas.

– Attend and represent in the different Area coordination meetings where organization implementation but not leading the meetings.

– Coordinates with Protection Manager for the protection response in the area, following the coordination meetings.

Reporting, quality control and monitoring and accountability

  • Prepare reports according to agreed timelines on activities undertaken in the Protection program including; Achievement, challenges encountered and best practice methods.

Other:

  • Comply with all of organization policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc).
  • Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the line manager.
