iMMAP France is an international nongovernmental organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations. d development contexts by enabling evidence-based decision-making for better outcomes.

Background

iMMAP France implements a project funded by the EU commission (Foreign Policy Instruments) with the purpose of supporting the Mine Action coordination response in Northeast Syria (NES).

Scope of Work

  • Maintain IMSMA (Information Management System for Mine Action) database and support its associated Geographic Information System (GIS) platform’s maintenance and functionalities.
  • Complete the qualitative and quantitative database clean-up process.
  • Perform a monthly audit of Mine action information to ensure data completeness integrity and quality.
  • Provide data analysis to support the preparation of comprehensive program reports.
  • Develop visually appealing and informative products.
  • Develop static maps and statistics for monthly reports and as requested by the Senior IMO and Humanitarian Mine Action Coordinator.
  • Prepare requested maps by Senior IM and Humanitarian Mine Action Coordinator.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Coo, ensure the distribution of all IMSMA and GIS (Geographic Information System) functionalities with external mine action role players and establish an update mechanism.
  • Provide support in ensuring the successful implementation of the standard working procedures for information management.
  • Responsible for the administration of relevant datasets and databases including content, structure, file location, and backup system.
  • Liaise with other Mine Action partner’s IMOs to build information management relationships for gathering reliable data and using data collection tools at the field level.
  • Assist and support the implementation of training, meetings, conferences, workshops, and all IM activities planned by the Senior IMO.
  • Support all offices in preparation of presentations, posters, publications as requested by Project Manager
  • Ability to travel within NES region.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

 REPORTING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION

The Information Management and GIS Officer will report to the Senior IMO under the overall management of the Project Manager. The Information Management and GIS officer will work in direct collaboration with the GIS and Developer Officer and data entry clerks.

REPRESENTATION

  • Where appropriate, represent the iMMAP France project team within partners, and participate in local community activities.
  • Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with iMMAP France staff, and external contacts with national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), donor agency officials, vendors, media, and the general public.
  • Follow iMMAP France ‘s branding regulations required for marking, or branding, of all iMMAP France products and correspondence.

SECURITY

Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP France Field Security Officer, supervised by the operations Coordinator.

ACCOUNTABILITY TO BENEFICIARIES

 iMMAP France team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP France programs, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field project.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Graduate of an Institute or University in the field of Information Technology, Information Management or Computer Sciences.

Experience & skills

  • A minimum of 2 year of progressively responsible experience in information management, database management, data visualization, or data analysis is required.
  • Experience in graphic design is required.
  • Experience in designing reports using adobe illustrator is required.
  • Experience in the Mine Action sector is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the database, and computer networks, and good knowledge of related hardware and peripheral equipment.
  • Previous experience in humanitarian intervention is preferred.
  • Experience in working with data collection applications such as KOBO, ODK and 123 survey is required.
  • Understanding data QA/QC processes for information management is essential.
  • Good understanding of  Postgres, Web design and Power Bi.
  • Knowledge of software engineering theory and applications would be an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational database principles.

Soft skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English languages is essential.
  • Ability to perform well on tight deadlines, flexible attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable to any situation.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently.

Programs requirements

  • MS Office
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat…)
  • Comprehensive skill in Excel, including data cleaning, charts, pivot table, managing tables.
  • ArcGIS Pro (desirable), or ArcGIS Desktop 10.x
  • QGIS
  • Knowledge in database, Postgres database.
  • Python programming skills
