Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree, organizational Behavior, community development.
2 years working experience with the NGOs and at least one year as officer in the same field.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Knowledge of one or more of the following: public health, health or Hygiene promotion, community development, education, or community water supply and sanitation.
Experience of collecting data at community level.
Experience and understanding of Hygiene Promotion and community mobilization in relation to water and sanitation activities.
Familiarity with the culture of the affected population, ability to develop respect from a wide range of people, and strong ability to communicate effectively on hygiene matters.
Fluency in the Arabic and English language.
Ability to work well in a team in difficult circumstances.

Job Description:
The Hygiene Promotion Officer will be responsible to organize community awareness on hygiene related issues, which include encompasses a systematic session to adequately promote personal, domestic, environmental and food hygiene practices that prevent or mitigate the transmission of diseases within the camp and monitoring and reporting of all the activities concerning hygiene communities’ awareness campaigns.
The role reports to: Sr. protection coordinator
Staff reporting to this post: (Hygiene Promotion Assistants)
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Heading a team of hygiene promoters who are conducting sessions in the camp.
Raise knowledge of the team members by conducting training workshop for them on the hygiene promotion subjects.
Prepare plan for the activities included in the program proposal.
Develop leaflets and poster related to hygiene promotion topics.
Draft related logistics documents to purchase the required items (supplies, equipment, leaflets, posters, and other needs) for the teams’ needs.
Write daily and weekly report for the achieved activities.
Maintains close working relationship with wash coordination meetings and flag hygiene issues in the camp.
Responsible for gathering information from other hygiene promoters and write weekly reports on the conducted activities by the hygiene team.
Monitors and follow-up to ensure the proper dissemination of hygiene and sanitation messages to the target beneficiaries.
Scheduling most of his/her time to spend on field work attend hygiene activities to facilitate for improved hygiene practices.
Provide regular updates from the field to the line manager.
Report any incidences related to the protection of IDPs, refugees and other vulnerable groups to the sr. protection coordinator.
Report security incidences in the field in a timely manner to the management.
Carry out other additional duties as assigned by line-manager.
