About the NGO

We are a non-profit organisation that pursues to bring hope and restoration to the region of Mesopotamia. Our projects vary from relief work to mid-term projects in sports, education, health, arts and trauma counselling.

We launched a new project two months ago in the city of AlNashwa, AlHasakah that aims to provide educational support and personality development for children. The center offers different activities in form of several-months lasting courses for children from 6-13 years.

Job description:

• Facilitating the children´s centre
• Development of schedules and class contents
• Preparation and facilitating of courses in various subjects
• Providing psychological support and life skill training
• Facilitating activities related to arts, entertainment, gardening, sports, music
• Creating and maintaining a welcoming and safe environment
• Development of supportive relationships with guardians of the children
• Reflection on and improvement of all activities
• Providing monthly activity reports

Requirements

• Previous experience in working with children
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Respectfulness and fairness towards children, colleagues and superiors
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles
• Capability and willingness to listen, self-reflect and learn
• Creativity in methods and excellent didactical skills
• Understanding of case management, psychological support and life skills
• Positive and professional attitude
• Ability to work in a stressful and difficult environment
• Flexibility and ability to adjust quickly to new circumstances and people
• Basic IT skills
• Excellent in Arabic, optional Kurdish
