 Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 4 years of work experience or 6 years of experience, Experience must include data management, knowledge management, information technology or any other related fields.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods.
  • Excellent skills in Excel, mapping tools, data collection tools and adobe programs are a must.
  • Skills in Arc GIS, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, Power BI, or similar softwares strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to details, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, analyzing and reporting.
  • Flexibility in working hours and place, willingness to travel around and work outside of working hours when needed.
  • Experience managing teams, either managing direct reports or managing efforts of colleagues in key workstreams.
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Arabic, and Kurdish desirable.

Essential Responsibilities:

 

MANAGING NES FORUM INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WORK STREAMS

  • Manage and supervise the NES NGO Forum Information Management Unit.
  • Set goals, track tasks progress, and report achievements of the Information Management unit.
  • Leading the data collection and consolidation process. Collect and consolidate data from various partners.
  • Applying sector and inter-sector calculation methodologies on the collected data.
  • Support the NES Forum Analyst in conducting more detailed response analysis relating to the geographic scale and programmatic scope of NES NGO interventions in northeast Syria.
  • Maintain the NES NGO response databases and oversee the back up and data storage process.
  • Support the Northeast Syria NGO forum team in various coordination tasks, as required.

MANAGING NES HUB INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

  • Provide orientation and technical support to NES NGO partners and sectors on the IM tools used by the Northeast Syria NGO Forum.
  • Chair and lead the Northeast Syria Information Management Working Group (IMWG), including through Scheduling the meeting (Following with other sector IMs if they have anything to present), Preparing the agenda and the presentation, Leading and conducting the meeting on monthly bases, writing minutes and share with ISWG and IMWG.
  • Arrange and provide Information Management trainings to partners and sectors information managers and reporting officers.
  • Map assistance coverage in Northeast Syria, analyze and identify apparent gaps.
  • Working with sector coordinators to provide ad hoc information management support as required.
  • Establish and maintain filing and documentation system accessible for humanitarian partners working in Northeast Syria.
  • Develop mechanisms to improve knowledge management and institutionalization within the NES Forum, among the NES Sectors, and for the wider NES response.

 

REPRESENTATION AND ENGAGEMENT WITH WHOLE OF SYRIA PROCESSES

  • Represent the NES Forum Information Management unit and the NES IMWG in various meetings and workshops at NES and WoS levels.
  • Follow up with WoS IM unit (OCHA) on sectors and inter-sector reach numbers verification.
  • Contributing to the WoS population task force as a member representing NES (providing feedback, comments, support) discussing with NES IMWG.
  • Contributing in WoS annual MSNA HRP process.
  • Extracting NES area MSNA/HRP come outs and figures, breaking down the Inter-sector and sectors PIN and needs severity.

PRODUCTION

  • Manage, analyze, document data and information from INGOs interventions in Northeast Syria. Designing (graphs), layout the NES Forum NGO monthly/Quarterly/Annual response snapshot. Finalize the snapshot and share the draft with ISWG and IMWG and follow up for any comments or feedback, to publish it and upload it on NES Forum website.
  • Managing the NES Forum Website, Updating the NES Forum website (design, upload, update), extending the domain, tracking the website traffic, managing the domain email and other services.
  • Produce, share maps illustrating scale/coverage of assistance.
