EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

1years of related experience collecting data through a smart phone application, Kobo mobile application preferred

Good communication skills, survey administration or interview specific experience preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills Arabic, English is beneficial but not required

Experience working with INGOs, in the development / humanitarian sector

Success Factors:

Ability to travel to all the program areas and any other areas in north and north-east of Syria.

Proven ability to learn quickly

Job Description:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The MEL Assistant is responsible for completing regular monitoring and evaluation activities in the field, including specified data collection activities using the kobo mobile data collection application. The MEL Assistant will support the MEL officer and Sr. MEL officer by producing the first draft of summary statistics and narrative writing.

The role reports to Monitoring Evaluation & Learning Officer

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY

Comply with community feedback mechanism procedures in the field, register and report all the received feedback to the MEL Officer, process documentation for all gathered information from the communities.

Data collection and monitoring

Conduct first draft summary statical analyses (limited to counts and percentages) for assigned performance monitoring data.

Create the first draft of analyses narrative to contextualize summary statistics for MEL officer review.

Lead field monitors during data collection for monitoring assignments including but not limited to:

Collect program monitoring data for Blumont interventions in Iraq and/or Northeast Syria. Monitoring assignments will be assigned to each field monitor by the Sr. MEL officer or MEL Coordinator and can include:

Survey data collected from Blumont beneficiaries, camp residents and community members.

Site observation data recorded through geo-tag and timestamp embedded photographs.

Collect all supplemental survey data electronically using a smartphone, in the kobo mobile application.

Collect, qualitative data through detailed notes to support qualitative data collection led by the MEL Officer, Sr. Officer or Coordinator.
