Blumont serves underserved populations, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of conflict, and tackles development challenges through programming tailored to local contexts and needs in order to empower communities from relief and recovery to sustainable resilience.

Blumont is looking to hire (1 Community Mobilizer) for (MEFA) Program in (Roj camp, North East Syria).

Job Description:

  • Providing community awareness sessions and reach-out.
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and implement support packages to help camp residences deal with difficulties and overcome dependencies.
  • Coordinate with other relevant resources to ensure the delivery of further community awareness sessions on health and hygiene topics.
  • Provide feedback and support to the Protection Officer to ensure that all project activities been designed with gender sensitive and protection-integrated approaches, with the needs of women, girls, boys, and men having been clearly considered and included in the design.
  • Provide age-appropriate activities and psychosocial support to all cases identified and referred by project team ensuring strict adherence to the core GBV guiding principles (safety and security, confidentiality, respect).

– The role reports to (Protection Officer or Snr. Protection Assistant).

 – Staff reporting to this post: (N\A).

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY

  • Facilitate Awareness, vocational training, and library sessions.
  • Contribute to providing training for block leaders on a regular basis.
  • Receiving, evaluating and release activities materials from the warehouse.
  • Preparing the monthly plan and the daily report and deliver it to the Protection Officer.
  • Organize and deliver community awareness raising events as determined by project objectives.
  • Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories.
  • Participate in the empowerment of women and adolescent girls in the sessions.
  • Coordinate with other relevant resources to ensure the delivery of further community awareness sessions on health and hygiene topics.
  • Collecting beneficiaries and forming groups for sessions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all the information collected in exercise of the job.
  • Provide feedback, and support to the Protection Officer to ensure that all project activities.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

– Formation of mobile teams in emergency situations to provide support.

– Preparing brochures.

-Design the content of and monitoring and evaluation tools for community awareness raising sessions in Protection for (Men-Women-Youth-Children), health, hygiene promotion, nutrition and, in coordination with the line Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sc. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or other relevant sections.
  • University degree and minimum of 5 years working experience in community service.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • 3 years working experience in the NGOs.
  • Proven work experience as a Community Mobilizer.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to carpentry tools.
  • Motivated, knowledgeable with positive communication skills.
  • Pro-active and helpful attitude, ready to take on variety of new tasks; with the ability to multi-task; Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills; and capable of working collaboratively with team members to achieve objectives.
