Blumont is looking to hire (2 Social Worker) for (MEFA) Program in (Al Hol Camp, North East Syria).

Job Description:

 

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

The social worker under direct supervision of the Senior protection assistant, is responsible for supporting protection and gender mainstreaming practices; and leading activities that support gender equality, enhance protection of community members, and raise their awareness on key GBV and protection topics. The social worker is responsible for implementing community‐based protection and psychosocial support activities. The social worker is expected to develop positive relationships with individual beneficiaries, community mobilizers and focal points to ensure the efficiency of Blumont’s outreach strategy and overall intervention.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Plan, coordinate, manage and implement support packages to help camp residences deal with difficulties and overcome dependencies.
  • Deliver capacity building activities on PSS, and Psychosocial first aid to project staff, Case identification and referring mechanisms.
  • Provide feedback and support to the Protection Officer to ensure that all project activities been designed with gender sensitive and protection-integrated approaches, with the needs of women, girls, boys, and men having been clearly considered and included in the design.
  • Provide age-appropriate activities and psychosocial support to all cases identified and referred by project team ensuring strict adherence to the core GBV guiding principles (safety and security, confidentiality, respect).
  • Build positive relationships with the communities and promote the participation of the community.
  • Provide direct emotional and psychosocial support to women and girls.
  • Document the process of identification, analysis, response, and evaluation using the tools provided by the Protection Officer.
  • Provide feedback, and support to the Protection Officer to ensure that all project activities.
  • Collecting beneficiaries and forming groups for sessions.
  • Facilitate PSS, vocational training, and library sessions.
  • Receiving, evaluating, and releasing activities materials from the warehouse.
  • Preparing the monthly plan and the daily report and delivering it to the Protection Officer.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all the information collected in exercise of the job.
  • Offer information, support, and counseling on the best course of action during sessions.
  • Complete monthly activity reports and develop and maintain work plans to achieve activities.
  • Ensure equity in protection (gender, child protection, disability) by focusing on the Most Vulnerable.
  • Formation of mobile teams in emergency situations to provide support.
  • Preparing brochures.
  • Design the content of and monitoring and evaluation tools for community awareness raising sessions in Protection for (Men-Women-Youth-Children), health, hygiene promotion, nutrition and, in coordination with the line Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sc. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or other relevant sections.
  • University degree and minimum of 5 years working experience in social work.

Experience and skills

 

  • 2 years working experience in the NGOs.
  • Proven work experience as a social worker.
  • Working knowledge of social theories and practices.
  • Social perceptiveness and empathy.
  • Good Knowledge of English language, and fluency in Arabic.
  • Good experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel).
  • Have high standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional helping relationships.
  • Ability to relate and communicate with diverse populations and groups.
  • Resilience along with ability to assess situations.
  • Willing to submit to background checks.
