Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

University degree (Sociology, Psychological Counseling, Faculty of Education) or relevant working experience.

General Work Experience:

Experience working in a humanitarian context and in the GBV Sector.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ethical sensitivity and ability to empathize with survivors of GBV.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work under stress.
  • Good computer skills, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Very good in written and spoken English, and Arabic.

Line manager: Protection Team Leader

Job Description:

The Case Manager will be based in Raqqa, with visits to other service providers and home visits to support and follow-up individual cases of women and girls identified in need of case management.

  • Ensure women and girls harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by completing confidential incident report and assessment forms and completing action plans, referrals, follow-up and case closure, following case management guidelines.
  • Provide women and girls information and advice on existing services and how to access them, information about the consequences of GBV and help them identify their needs and options.
  • Develop action plans to address survivor’s physical, emotional, psychological and social needs and provide follow-up to ensure needed services are provided.
  • Facilitate safe and confidential referrals to other service providers in the area, working closely with referral partners to ensure holistic, multi sectoral response for survivors.
  • Understands and applies a survivor-centered approach, including GBV Guiding Principles: Safety, Confidentiality, Respect and Non-Discrimination
  • Demonstrates commitment to gender equality.
  • Provide psychological first aid (PFA) to survivors of GBV.
  • Treat survivors with respect, kindness and in a caring manner, always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Exhibits empathy and positive interpersonal skills, including cultural competence.
  • Work with other case workers ensuring timely communication of relevant information to ensure proper and high-quality management of the case.
  • Participate in case conferences and report to the Supervisor/ Team Leader on complex cases for final approval on the needed intervention and actions to be taken.
  • Fill specific forms for assessments and case management tracking, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness under the supervision of the Supervisor/Team Leader.
  • Compile statistics and prepare progress weekly and monthly reports according to donors’ requirements.
  • Assess, plan and implement activities in coordination with the Center Coordinator and the Facilitators when necessary.
  • Participate in capacity building activities provided by UPP and AFH to improve own skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to and promote the values and principles outlined in AFH’s Code of Conduct and other relevant policies, such as Child Safeguarding Policy, Anti-Discrimination Policy, and Vulnerable Persons Safeguarding Policy.
  • Commit to and comply with the organization PSEA principles & policies, such as the Sexual Harassment Policy.
  • Any other relevant task assigned by the Supervisor / Team Leader
