Job Description

Position: WASH Assistant

Duty station: Raqqa with frequent travel to Deir Ezzor & Manbij

Line Manager: WASH engineer

The main tasks of the WASH Assistant are:

Job Description:

Prepare all technical documents (eg technical drawings, bills of quantities, etc.) for all relevant WASH activities especially water related disease.
Supervising and Monitoring construction and rehabilitation activities by contractors, as well as the maintenance carried out by them.
Daily reports to the senior WASH Officer on progress and technical challenges identified in the field.
Ensure that WASH activities (rehabilitation, HP, water quality monitoring, HKs …) are carried out in accordance with the organization’s standards and planning as well as any local regulations.
Properly collect water samples from households, trucks, water stations and any other water point as necessary.
Carry out laboratory assessments to test water quality attributes including but not limited to ECOLI, free and total chlorine, pH, and turbidity
Work closely with schools / TLCs staff and provide the required knowledge and training to ensure their ability to carry out water tests independently.
Assessment of health risks, water and sanitation needs, available resources and capacity of existing systems – damaged or neglected infrastructure and sources, possibly camp settlements
identifying appropriate water sources, confirming the quality and quantity of available water, negotiating access to water resources (wells, pumping stations, etc.) and obtaining relevant approvals from the authorities;
Consult with community representatives on access, design and management of water and wastewater systems, sanitation facilities, etc.;
Design, implementation/monitoring of implementation of water storage, treatment and distribution systems – potable/other uses;
Design, implement/monitor the implementation of sewage/sanitary systems.
advice on best practices for the management of liquid and solid household waste, hospital waste and the operation of medical incinerators and other communal facilities, including drainage, vector control, etc
Provide training on water treatment, water quality testing, maintenance and hygiene;
Assess the condition, establish maintenance systems, train personnel, arrange repairs for tanks, pumps, generators, piping, drainage systems, and water quality testing equipment;
Supports the program team in terms of negotiations, preparation and administration of contracts with service providers (may include preparation of bid documents and assessment of contractors’ capacity and quality);
Any other task related to the position as requested by the supervisor,

Requirements and qualifications for the position:

Minimum required education – bachelor degree in engineering (obligatory);
Prior experience as engineering projects supervisor, Chlorination & Water testing (desired);
Very good experience in Engineering drawings APPs (AutoCAD) (obligatory);
Excellent organization, coordination, analytical skills; and capacity to prioritize, and communicate effectively.

الوصف الوظيفي:

إعداد جميع الوثائق التقنية (مثل الرسومات الفنية، جداول الكميات ، إلخ) لجميع أنشطة المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الصحية وبشكل خاص النشاطات المتعلقة بالأمراض ذات الصلة بمياه الشرب .

الإشراف والمراقبة على أعمال البناء والتأهيل من قبل المقاولين ، وكذلك أعمال الصيانة التي يقومون بها.
تقارير يومية إلى موظف المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الصحية عن التقدم المحرز والتحديات التقنية المحددة في الميدان.
التأكد من أن أنشطة المياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة (إعادة التأهيل, مراقبة جودة المياه، HKs ، HP …) يتم تنفيذها وفقًا لمعايير المنظمة والتخطيط بالإضافة إلى أي لوائح محلية.

المتطلبات والمؤهلات:

الحد الأدنى من التعليم المطلوب – درجة البكالوريوس في الهندسة (إلزامي) ؛
خبرة سابقة كمشرف على المشاريع الهندسية، اختبار الكلورة والمياه (مرغوب فيه) ؛
تجربة جيدة جدًا في برامج الرسم الهندسية الزامي (AutoCAD)
تنظيم ممتاز، وتنسيق، ومهارات تحليلية ؛ والقدرة على تحديد الأولويات والتواصل بفعالية.
