Daily Driver for Heavy Vehicle, Mahmoudly Camp (BHA II-033 – 2022 – Syria)

Blumont is looking to hire a Daily Driver for Heavy Vehicle for BHA SAFER II Program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Mahmoudly Camp, North East Syria.

Job Description:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The heavy vehicle driver will be responsible for safe operation of the skid steer, Tipper truck, water tanker at designated work sites, in addition to other duties include inspecting their vehicles for mechanical issues relating to safe operation, and basic repair work (daily and regularly ones) , the heavy vehicle’s driver must be able to keep a record of vehicle inspections , working hours and make sure the vehicle is equipped with safety equipment.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY

 

  • Safely and efficiently operate a skid steer, tipper truck and water tanker to move materials and water, excavate, grade, and perform other construction-related tasks.
  • Conducting simple repairs on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine work requirement.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the skid steer, tipper truck and water tanker such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure and greasing moving parts.
  • Operate attachments such as Tipper truck, water tanker, forks, and augers to complete assigned tasks.
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures in the organization and traffic rules.
  • Keep accurate records of hours worked and tasks completed.
  • Report any problems or damage to the skid steer, tipper truck, and water tanker to the supervisor.
  • Comply with all organization policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and vehicles.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or ability to read and write at least.
  • Valid certification to operate machinery.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • Communication: Heavy Vehicle Driver must be able to communicate well with their coworkers, supervisors, and beneficiaries
  • Attention to detail: Heavy Vehicle Driver need to be able to pay attention to detail when operating their machines with all records of the daily activities
  • Problem-solving: Heavy Vehicle Driver must have problem-solving skills to identify and address issues that may arise during his work time
  • Proven experience as a skid steer, Tipper truck, water tanker operator.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Good physical condition and stamina.
