متطلبات العمل:

This position is only open to female candidates.

  • Minimum 0-2 years’ field experience
  • Strong understanding of security issues, threats, risks, and the vulnerabilities of humanitarian staff.
  • Previous experience of NGO and humanitarian agencies or any other community-level work
  • Experience in media monitoring and liaison (including social media)
  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, planning, organizing, analysis and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly regarding liaison and training competencies
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles, particularly neutrality and impartiality
  • High school diploma or higher education, but ideally a graduate
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and analysis and reporting.
  • Computer literate; strong MS-Excel and MS Word skills
  • Good spoken and written English, Arabic, and Kurdish.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with mapping tools – e.g. Google My Maps is an asset
  • Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with international and national personnel, as well as with project partners, local authorities and any other community stakeholders and key figures and community members
  • Ability to conduct oneself with sensitivity and respect toward others, be polite and able to listen well to others.

الوصف الوظيفي:

Situation Monitoring and Reporting (30%)

  1. Stay informed (through media, social media, personal contacts, (I)NGO channels, etc.) about the safety and security situation in NES on a daily basis.
  2. Ensure rigorous information managements and analysis, including by verifying acquired information through secondary sources.
  3. Develop and maintain trusted professional relationships with security-related actors, including host communities, law enforcement authorities and other stakeholders to ensure effective information sharing and provide regular feedback and analysis to country managers by maintaining this network for the purposes of situational understanding and access.
  4. Inform the Safety & Security team about the safety and security updates from field visits in line with internal communication protocols at the request of the Security coordinator
  5. Provide tailored security-related advice, in written and oral form as needed in coordination with the Safety and Security Senior Coordinator.
  6. Undertake focus group discussions with female members of the team to ensure that gender-based concerns are being articulated and communicated to management.

Operational Security (40%)

  1. With the Senior Security Coordinator and other Security team members’ support, conduct periodic security assessments in close cooperation with Program staff and interagency partners, analyzing security factors and levels of risk related to activities and programs.
  2. Contribute to ensuring the physical protection and Security of the teams and partners of concern by contributing to security assessments, analysis, and advice to develop and implement effective strategies.
  3. Undertake extensive field visits to various field offices and field sites within NES to assess, evaluate and monitor the established security measures for the staff or partners, particularly those of female team members and participants
  4. Maintain regular visits to partners offices and locations to support with implementing safety and security measures.
  5. Ensure that the Safety and Security team and the Management are accurately informed in a timely manner about the security and safety situation in areas of operation. This includes information about the armed conflict, tensions, social streams, crime, and any other relevant issues in the communities and areas where is operating.
  6. Support the program teams in managing staff safety and Security of staff, partners, operations, premises or persons of concern.
  7. Undertake other security-related functions or responsibilities as needed.
  8. Interact with female staff, partners and beneficiaries to create a safe zone for females to report or discuss any gender-related issues or incidents.
  9. Provide gender-specific advice for female staff and partners.
  10. Ability to identify and liaise with the local contacts and work in the team given the fluid security condition.
  11. Political awareness of the current situation on the ground.

Coordination and representation (10%)

1-       Interact effectively and sensitively with international and national personnel, as well as with project partners, local authorities and any other community stakeholders and key figures and community members.

2-       Ability to communicate in Arabic and Kurdish as the counterparts may not be familiar with English.

3-       Very strong interpersonal skills, patience, balanced attitude coupled with proven negotiation skills, with strong communication, both written and oral.

4-       Coordination skills to work in close cooperation with multiple stakeholders and partners on the ground.

Capacity Building (20%)

  1. Provide NES-relevant security advice and training to staff and implementing partners in areas of operation on Safety and Security matters, particularly to female members of the team on sensitive issues.
  2. Support the Safety and Security team in maintaining orientations and training records of all staff training pertaining to safety – e.g. upon arrival orientation, First Aid, Fire-Fighting, HEAT
  3. In line with the Country Security Manager and Senior Security Coordinator, support local partners in building their safety and security capacities.
