Job Requirements:
- Requires a secondary school education or its equivale.
- Less than one-year experience in related field.
- Experience facilitating activities with children and adolescents in a group setting
- Fluent in Arabic other languages an advantage
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude
- Child-friendly communication skills, including active listening skills, creative verbal and non-verbal communication skills and clear written communication
- Ability to work effectively on a team and motivate others
- Ability to identify problems and offer creative / practical resolutions
Job Description:
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Support the development of weekly schedules of age-appropriate activities, covering sports, art and crafts, music and drawing activities where appropriate, recreational and PSS activities.
- Conduct daily activities for children and adolescents, from 8 am to 4 pm, as per schedule.
- Supervise activities with active child participation, and ensure that activities are inclusive of all children.
- Support a child-friendly environment for children’s activities.
- Conducting age-appropriate psychosocial support and recreational activities (music, sports, handicrafts, art, awareness, drama, mothers-children)
- Participation in the implementation of child protection project activities s (e.g.: resilience of children and youth, parenting sessions, self-protection and peer protection, etc.).
- Identifying child protection risks and referring children to the case management team through CP M&R Assistant.
- Participation in awareness campaigns within the CFS and in the camp.
- Participation in distributions within the camp and the CFS.
- Support the organization’s child protection team, and colleagues in the education department to build positive relationships with the children, parents and the community, and to inform them of the goals and activities of the protection space in the camp.
- Ensure that children’s views and feedback are integrated in child protection activities, involving parents in decision-making as much as possible, and discussing the benefits of child protection activities and children’s psychological well-being with parents.
- Ensure that the CFS is a friendly space, inclusive all of children. Furniture, floors and all other materials and equipment are clean, and that children follow personal hygiene practices. The facilitator also ensures that all necessary materials and equipment are accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day.
- The facilitator will be a role model for the children who come to the space.
- Recording children’s attendance in a joint CP and Education Database, preparing daily updates, reports and challenges and sharing them with the CP Supervisor and the CP Assistant.
- Support the implementation of an effective monitoring and evaluation system for the using the approved tools
- Participate in structured self-reflection and performance feedback sessions with the CP Assistant
- Inform the direct supervisor about any challenges, difficulties and concerns in the implementation of activities or issues in the social context.
- Any additional tasks assigned to them that are reasonable according to the work requirements.
Other
- Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of child protection and child safeguarding at all times, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the child.
- Comply with organization policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
