Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum reading and writing skill in Arabic language.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in generator/mechanical operation.
- Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of generators and related mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
- Ability to detect operating defects or faults.
- Ability to work with high voltage equipment.
- Ability to keep records of fuel used and general operating conditions.
Other Considerations:
- Candidates will be required to provide educational certification to Blumont’s satisfaction as a requirement for this role

Job Description:
The generator operator performs repair and other critical services on all generator sets. He use logical troubleshooting steps to identify the cause of generator failure or any other problem and determine the correct action by inspecting the failed parts.
– The role reports to: Supply chain Officer.
– Team members reporting to this post: N/A
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY
- Control, operate, and maintain generators used to generate electric power, includes auxiliary equipment operations.
- Ensure electricity is supplied to Blumont office without interference.
- Conduct daily inspection by checking battery charge status, water level and lubricants.
- Keep accurate log and records of generators in general.
- Regularly change oil, filters, and water according to manual.
- Keep sufficient work tools, spare parts, oil filters and other related items.
- Carry out safety measure around the generator and fuel tank.
- Install and maintain electricity wiring and distribution system.
- Monitor load on generator and take measures to prevent any damage to premises of equipment including generator.
- Report any damage or potential damage to maintenance and facilities officer or Admin manager.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, and voltage of electricity supplied.
- Adjust or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints; report any needs for major repairs.
- Check oil, water, and diesel upon need
- Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.
