Job Requirements:

The position requires a Bachelor degree preferably in Economics or Agriculture or equivalent. The candidate should have at least 02 years of work experience in agriculture and in livelihoods preferably with international / local NGOs in different geographic locations. Candidate having experience that particular related to wheat value chain that include support to agriculture inputs related to wheat farming, irrigation techniques, farmers’ cooperative initiatives, solar system linked to wheat value chain, small & medium businesses, addressing knowledge gaps through apprenticeships and farmers trainings.. Good communication and coordination skills required. The applicant should be preferably having a good command in written and spoken English. Must be proficient in MS Office, especially advanced Excel, Word.

Job Description:

  • Assist Livelihoods Program Coordinator and Livelihoods Officer to ensure that all aspects of FCDO livelihoods field activities are managed according to organization’s and donor regulations.
  • Assist to ensure livelihood inputs distribution plans and distribution monitoring plans are in place and smooth and timely implemented.
  • Conduct participant training and capacity building.
  • Maintain close work relations with PaQ team to ensure all monitoring forms are filled properly and completed in timely manner.
  • Support Livelihoods Officer to provide technical assistance to the target beneficiaries and other field level stakeholders.
  • Assist in beneficiary registrations, sensitizations and field level verification processes.
  • Support Livelihoods Officer and Senior Agriculture Officer (Agriculture Specialist) with necessary field written reports that meet organization’s and donor standards.
  • Work closely with organization’s support staff and other project staff to ensure that program activities provide maximum impact in target areas.
  • Assist the program team in launching new assessments and project monitoring processes.
  • When necessary, assist the team with the sharing of lessons learned and good practices for dissemination within organization’s and to other agencies and interested parties
  • If required, support the team to coordinate with local government structures to ensure coordination during distribution
  • Ensure community support for program, and minimize conflicts around input and cash distributions
  • Support the team to design and implement effective monitoring and evaluation systems to capture impact and ensure that the program is responsive to opportunities and challenges
  • Expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and organization’s policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to organization’s and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission
  • At the request of the Livelihoods officer of program manager the assistant will be expected to travel to project implementation areas.
