Job Requirements:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in public health, education, communication, Civil Engineering, or another relevant field. Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles. Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving. Proven ability to learn quickly, lead a program to achieve stated results and objectives. Minimum experience of 3 years in emergency, WASH programing including stakeholders’ management. Ability to effectively represent the NGO and its interests to key stakeholders. Experience working with host governments, national and international NGOs. Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent oral and written Arabic skills required; proficiency in English is required. Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment. Experience in the field / areas of operations will a strong asset.
Job Description:
Under the supervision of WASH Manager. The person will be contributing for the delivery of high-quality WASH (including infrastructural) interventions for population affected by the crisis. The position will directly work with the field WASH assistant and hygiene promotion officer for the continuation of water and sanitation infrastructure rehabilitation, solid waste management, hygiene promotion, FSL team and local partners, Coordinate with stakeholders to provide technical input wherever required. Conduct and hold communication with local authorities and participant communities, ensuring all approvals and authorizations are collected in a timely manner s/he will be responsible to conduct WASH technical assessments and produce assessment reports and other relevant technical documents. Lead on the solid waste management component, and support on WASH assessments and activities as needed. Supervise WASH infrastructure project in according to the work plan, project document and implementation strategy. Troubleshoot, as needed, to prevent disruptions in daily program activities and liaise with the local authorities. Coordinate and share information with the WASH Coordinator and WASH program manager as needed to ensure overall projects targets and donor obligations are being achieved. Troubleshoot on reporting and programmatic needs. Advise supervisor on suggested improvements and changes, as required. Experience in design and construction for engineering projects, technical Knowledge in WASH with good experience preferred in Engineering programs (AutoCAD – SAP 2000) and conduct training in the areas related to the project activities for staff, communities, and project beneficiaries. Ensure close coordination and sharing of information between the various sectors, project staff and program support through regular program meetings and activity plans. Mobilize communities to participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of projects as well as design viable strategies which are both respectful with the local culture and sensitive towards the population. Provide direct and ongoing supervision support to WASH Assistant. Ensure that monitoring and evaluation, reporting system is developed and implemented for project activities. Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such manner as to bring credit to NGO’s and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission. Supervise Hygiene promotion project activities according to the work plan, project document and implementation strategy. training to hygiene promotion assistants and community hygiene Volunteers. Close follow up with sub-grant partners in day-to-day implementation including reviewing reports and reconciliation the target and triggers. Other duties as assigned.
