Job Requirements:

o        Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, law or other relevant field.

o        Experience and/or excellent understanding of child rights, child protection in emergencies, psychosocial support, child and youth development, child and youth resilience and empowerment.

o        At least three years’ experience preferably in child protection and/ or working with vulnerable families, caregivers, communities and individuals

o        Specific experience in child management is an asset. Knowledge and experience in CPIMS+/Primero is an added advantage

o        Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and capacity to maintain relations with government officials, community leaders, children and youth.

o        At least one year of experience in project management, including supervision of staff.

o        In-depth experience of training-development and delivery, including Child Protection, Case Management and Psychosocial Support.

o        Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office and excel.

o        Commitment to and understanding of the organization’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches and child safeguarding policies and procedures.

o        Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours and spend time in the field, sometimes in difficult conditions and with limited resources, and with remote management.

o        Good understanding of the Al-Hassakeh region, key decision makers and context.

o        Excellent knowledge of Arabic, Kurdish and English with report writing ability.

Job Description:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Planning and Budgeting for Case Management

o        Be involved in the design of project activities, including proposal development by providing ground level information related to locations, assessed needs, target areas and groups/population as well as budgeting

o        Prepare financial and administrative documentation related to project activities, such as purchase and procurement requests and ensure that reports, monitoring, evaluation and activity progress is collected accurately and on a regular basis.

CM program/project Implementation and Monitoring

o        With the support of the child program manager, have a technical leading role in the implementation of The organization’s Child Protection Programs related to case management including supervision of staff.

o        Manage logistics, HR, admin and finance aspects of the project, with the support of the Child Protection Manager.

o        Work closely with community to develop and support the child protection activities and ensure a close link to the local community to mobilizing and improve community-led child protection mechanisms.

o        Provide technical input and deliver (or support the delivery of) activities in the area child and family-focused protection, psychosocial support, community based child protection mechanisms, case management and child protection monitoring and ensure that Child Protection programs are closely linked with other sectors, such as Education.

o        Inform the direct supervisor about any challenges, difficulties and concerns in the implementation of activities or issues in the social context.

o        Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of child protection and child safeguarding at all times, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the child.

o        Comply with SCI organisational policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Case Management Data management and quality control

o        Work closely with Information management team and CPIMS+ coordinator to ensure data is accurately recorded, and utilised for program development and reporting while following ethical procedures for data sharing and CM SOPs.

o        Ensure that case management staff receive relevant training, supervision and mentorship provide appropriate case management support to children as per CM SOPs

o        Conduct weekly field monitoring visits to provide technical guidance the teams

o        Conduct case conferencing with the team and whenever arranged, participate in inter-agency case conferencing

o        Ensure uptake of initiatives that improve quality as guided by the technical teams

o        Advocate for staff welfare

o        Ensure adherence to stipulated IASC minimum standards for child protection [2019] and SOPS for case management and adherence to Quality benchmarks.

o        Ensure integrated programming with other sectors and close collaborations with other humanitarian actors

Reporting

o        Collect and compile weekly, monthly, progress and other reports from the Child Protection Program Officers, as required, and regularly report to the Child Protection Manager in the Derek office.

o        Contribute to 4W reporting and any reports as needed

o        Ensure that the service mapping is up to date at all times and disseminated to beneficiaries

Staff management and development

o        With the support of the child protection manager, participate in recruitment and capacity building of child protection officers, assistants and facilitators.

o        Identify capacity building needs and opportunities within the child protection team, as well as other sectors, civil society and among partners. Facilitate the trainings as required.

Coordination, Representation and advocacy

o        Liaise on a daily basis with partners, community and organization supervisors and colleagues to guarantee the smooth operation of the programs.

o        Represent SC in the periodic Case management Task Force meetings and provide timely updates to the line manager and technical teams

o        Coordinate with other agencies for referrals and  support to children with protection concerns
