Job Requirements:

A BA/BSc degree (preferred) in social sciences, education or a degree or equivalent sector of experience at least 01 year of experience working in a humanitarian or NGO setting. Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment. Proven ability to learn quickly and initiate solutions to achieve stated results and objectives. Understanding of humanitarian context of targeted area response or understanding area local communities is required. Good command of English (spoken and written) is required. Detail-oriented and strong command of computer skills.

Job Description:

The Emergency Assistant aids the Emergency Program Officer in the implementation of various humanitarian response related activities funded by BHA, including distributions, assessments, etc, in Raqqa or Hasakeh Governorate. Role includes support to planning, coordination, and execution of all community-based activities. The person will work closely with community members and groups to design appropriate response. She/he will raise awareness about our activities and mobilize community actors through regular stakeholder/community meetings. She/he will assist the Emergency Program Officer in daily activities to ensure that all aspects of programs implementation are managed according to our regulations. The person will support the Emergency Program Officer to coordinate selection and agreements with service-contracted partners for successful roll out of the project. That will include maintaining beneficiary lists based on established selection criteria. She/he will ensure distribution plans, lists and distribution-monitoring plans for project are updated, organized and timely implemented. Also she/he will support monitoring, evaluation and learning activities including providing regular updates of activities, documenting feedback from beneficiaries, participating in lessons learned reviews and supporting internal and external evaluations of the activities,

and assist the program team in launching new assessments and/or new proposals. The person will work closely with the country team and security focal point in supporting and adhering to policies that support the safety and security of the team whilst implementing activities. She/he support the team to participate coordination and collaboration with other agencies implementing similar activities to avoid duplication and maximize sharing of lessons learned and tools.
