Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development/psychology, sociology or other relevant field.
  • Experience preferably in psychosocial work, working with vulnerable families, caregivers, communities and individuals
  • Experience and/or excellent understanding of human rights, gender, child rights and protection and psychosocial support
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and coordination skills, and capacity to maintain relations with community, children and youth
  • Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office and basic Excel.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours and spend time in the field, sometimes in difficult conditions and with limited resources

Desirable

  • English speaker or other relevant languages
  • Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and conflict sensitivity

Job Description:

  • Develop and regularly review the vulnerability criteria for IPA in collaboration with Child Protection and Case Management colleagues, CP technical support and CPCs as appropriate
  • Liaise with Camp Administration and other service providers and stakeholders, including CPCs to receive referrals of and/or identify women in need to who meet the vulnerability criteria
  • Under supervision of the Case Management Officer, follow the SOP (under development) for provision of IPA to work closely with the individual to assess the need/barrier/risk, identify how the individual will benefit from IPA and determine the assistance package
  • Take action to coordinate and deliver the assistance in a timely manner
  • Utilized IPA as an opportunity to provide psychological first aid and awareness raising of other available services; Maintain up to date service mapping and establish referral pathways where possible
  • Maintain the highest standards of informed consent and confidentiality, including appropriate record-keeping and maintenance of files/database
  • Feed into weekly, monthly, progress and other reports, as required by the line manager.
  • Work together with the Child Protection teams and other stakeholders to monitor the overall situation of the conflict-affected women, children and their families in the camp and identify trends or opportunities to enhance support and collaboration.
  • Inform the direct supervisor about any challenges, difficulties and concerns in the implementation of activities or issues in the social context.
  • Ensure a strict adherence to the principles of child protection and child safeguarding at all times, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the child.
  • Comply with the organization policies and practices with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • In agreement with CM Officer and Coordinator, perform other required duties within reason (in line with your skills and experience)
