Job Requirements:
Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context minimum of two years • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts • Core competency expertise • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience: • University degree in education/pedagogy • Experience in teaching minimum of three years • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of NGOs operations and dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus • Knowledge of the context in North East Syria • Knowledge of the local language: Arabic and Kurdish
Personal qualities: • Planning and delivering results • Working with people • Communicating with impact and respect • Handling insecure environments
Job Description:
Specific responsibilities: • Conduct teachers training in collaboration with education officers and Technical Assistants, follow up of trainings and workshops; collect data and prepare reports; • Carry out teacher coaching and follow up, observation and class visits, and spot check review of lesson plan; • Support and participate in the interview process of new teachers; • Ensure adherence to activities delivered in the field according to Education strategy; • Report regularly on teachers’ performance through: trainings reports and classroom observation reports • Contribute to the identification of good practices under the project • Collaborate with Education Officers and Education technical Assistants on monitoring teacher’s performance in all learning centres; • Provide capacity building opportunities to teachers through coaching sessions and peer to peer feedback; • Contribute to outcome monitoring report through provision of teachers’ performance and students’ achievement reports • Provide regular feedback to line manager on activities delivered in the field • Others duties as assigned and agreed upon
