Job Requirements:         

Qualifications/Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Business administration or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in conducting business trainings or equivalent.
  • Experience in preparing training curricula
  • Experience in monitoring TVET projects
  • Experience in report writing
  • Experience in working for international or local non-governmental organizations (essential)
  • Fluency in English and Arabic – both written and verbal (desired)
  • Microsoft skills – Word and Excel

Interpersonal, Communication and Coordination Skills:

  • Punctual and attentive to detail
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills with capacity to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and able to cope with a challenging and constantly-evolving humanitarian work environment, often under pressure
  • A strong commitment towards humanitarian relief and disaster operations. It is of utmost priority that candidates understand, respect and actively promote the spirit of the mandate and core humanitarian values, including humanity and the humanitarian imperative, independence, impartiality, neutrality, and accountability in aid.

Suitable candidates for this position should possess:

  • Bachelor degree
  • At least two years of relevant working experience (administration, education, economics, etc.),
  • Ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Fluent written and spoken Arabic. English knowledge will be considered as an advantage,
  • Experience in working for international or local non-governmental organizations (desired),
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills with capacity to prioritize, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and able to cope with a challenging and constantly-evolving humanitarian work environment, often under pressure
  • Ability to establish and manage effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and external partners

Job Description:

This position is for a Programme Assistant to work full-time in the CVT office in North East Syria. The role will involve the implementation of a new livelihood Programme, including Training and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, apprenticeships, small business grants (SBGs) and any other potential LH activities This job will be in the field as necessary and filling out reporting templates. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer.

General

The PA

  • Supports the PO to track day-to-day activities of the LH Programme.
  • Provides business training for TVET students at CVT TVET Centre
  • Feeds into the information sharing mechanism in the field and provides data and field updates to the Livelihood Programme Manager (daily activity reports).
  • Respects the security guidelines as set in the programme security plan.
  • Supervises the process of collecting and updating data from local councils periodically.
  • Follows up on adherence to basic protection standards during activities
  • Conducts other activities as requested by line manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports PO in conducting need assessments as required identifying needs in the operational areas.
  • Supports PO in ensuring that all partners, beneficiaries and local councils understand the terms of the contracts/MOUs.
  • Makes sure that the activities are going according to plan with regard to time and beneficiaries’ satisfaction following CVT rules and policies.
  • Conducts regular project monitoring to ensure quality of activities & identify any challenges or delays.
  • Ensures accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
  • Assists in ensuring all beneficiaries receiving their kits, stipends and allowances as appropriate
  • Ensures proper filing and archiving of project documents.
  • Informs PO of any opportunities, challenges or changes to the programming environment in the field.
  • Ensures effective and timely communication with all stakeholders of the project as requested by PO.
  • Assists in collecting and reporting any new security information, incident or any change of the context to the line manager.
